EXPO

Sven belongs since 2009 to the younger generation of the studio artist and is extremely productive.  He gets his inspiration from various TV series from the eighties which he collects on DVD.  Surfing the internet, he looks for images of his favorite heroes such as David Charvet, Sylvester Stallone or MacGyver. He repeats the various sets and poses so often, that he can blindly shake out a perfect David Hasselhoff out of his sleeve. Besides action heroes, Sven is also fascinated by shiny racecars from the same period.

Sven’s work is characterized by his typical line and realistic use of color. He mostly works with conté-chalk or pastels but he also regularly grabs a paintbrush.

In 2015, he collaborated with artist Peter Van Ammel on cars and art.  They built a correspondence in which a tube was filled with inspiration material and was sent back and forth by mall.  During the Enter festival Antwerp in April 2015, both artists worked together for a week, on building an exhibition with the collected material in the Tutti Fratelli buildings. In February 2020, Peter and Sven started a new correspondence project.
